CS-SUNN CONVENES 2019 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

CS-SUNN convened her 2019 Annual General Meeting in Abuja with over 40 delegates drawn from some CS-SUNN state chapters across the country in attendance. The Meeting sought to review the 2019 Workplan and budget, rectify amendments to the organization’s constitution, appoint new Board of Trustees and present the organization’s 2019 Annual/Financial reports among others.

The Alliance’s Chairman, Dr. David Olayemi at the meeting reiterated that CS-SUNN hopes to build partnerships with identified strategic investors in Nutrition to raise the Nutrition profile of Nigeria. According to him “CS-SUNN aims to be the loudest and strongest advocate for Nutrition in Nigeria. We are aiming to build capacity of advocates and champions for nutrition in Nigeria”.

On the membership strength of the Organization, Executive Secretary, Beatrice Eluaka revealed that CS-SUNN’s membership has grown from one hundred and eighteen (118) to two hundred and fifty (250) registered member organizations. “Our functional state chapters have grown from seventeen (17) to twenty-two (22)”, Eluaka said. She encouraged the state chapters and delegates to provide reports/information on their activities to the CS-SUNN National level to showcase their strength and capacity for funders seeking alliances to work with.

The alliance is currently implementing the Partnership for Improving Nigerian Nutrition Systems (PINNS) and the SUN Movement Pooled Fund Project Window 1.
