The Civil Society Scaling-Up Nutrition in Nigeria (CS-SUNN) is a non-governmental, non- profit-making coalition, made up of organizations with a shared vision to transform Nigeria into a country where every citizen is food and nutrition secured.  We pursue this lofty goal by engaging government and non-state actors to raise awareness, sustain commitment and actions to effectively tackle under-nutrition in Nigeria.  The coalition was formally launched on the 7th of August, 2014.


The Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Officer under the supervision of the Programme Manager, will work in close collaboration with the program team to optimize monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning systems to ensure high-quality programming and organizational effectiveness at CS-SUNN.


  • Ensure Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning (MEAL) is integrated at every phase of CS-SUNN programming from design through implementation, evaluation and dissemination.
  • Design and implement a CS-SUNN-wide Knowledge Management system to ensure effective organization and project documentation, sharing of successes.
  • the CS-SUNN growth strategies, identify gaps and design modalities to increase network spread to all states and increase members engagement at community levels.
  • Promote the efficient collection, analysis and use of data in evidence-based programing for high-impact results.
  • Define all process, output and outcome indicators as well as all MEAL specific expectations, standards, and procedures to all programs staff so that they are clear and guided in the performance of their MEAL roles and responsibilities.
  • Manage the project log frame and ensure that all program activities are carried out as per the project log frame and other relevant project documents.
  • Oversee implementation of all MEAL activities, including annual surveys, case studies, and program reviews.
  • Design and lead implementation of efficient and accurate data collection system that includes efficient processes for collecting data and ensuring data quality.
  • Support the collection of state reports for the PM to put together periodic, quarterly project and annual reports of the alliance.
  • Other responsibilities and tasks assigned by the Line Manager


  • A degree /HND from a reputable institution in any of the Sciences, Technology, Engineering of Mathematics (STEM). A Master’s degree with demonstrable relevance is an added advantage.
  • A minimum of 3 years cognate experience in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) within the NGO sector.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite with advanced knowledge in MS Excel is required. Knowledge of Tableau, PowerBi, GIS as well as other relevant Data Management softwares is an added advantage.
  • Experience in Knowledge Management, Research, Analysis, Evaluation and Dissemination of Findings to a variety of audiences.
  • Self-leadership, emotional intelligence and ability to work in and with a team to achieve set objectives.
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and people management skills with ability to execute interviews, focused group discussions and surveys successfully.
