Dr. Terfa Simon Kene

Dr. Terfa Simon Kene is a Consultant Public Health Physician, Medical Statistician, and Epidemiologist.

He is a graduate of Ahmadu Bello University with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and the University of Ibadan with a Master of Science degree in Epidemiology and Medical Statistics.

He is a fellow of both the West African College of Physicians and the National Postgraduate Medical College of Public Health Nigeria and is currently the Chief Executive Officer and Team Lead of Ave Health Sense Limited, a public health research, social enterprise and consultancy organization.


Dr. Kene is a multi-talented influential leader with diverse knowledge and skills, including public health information management, public health nutrition, public health diplomacy, and public health social enterprise. With over 20 years of experience implementing projects and managing grants with local and international development partners.

He is a member of the board of trustee for Civil Society Scaling Up Nutrition in Nigeria (CS-SUNN), a member of the Transfat Elimination Coalition in Nigeria, and he initiated the innovative idea of the Transfat Free Zone design to educate individuals and institutions on the importance of eliminating artificial transfat in the diet and food value chain.

His personal career goal is to help you reduce salt in your diet, eliminate artificial transfat in the food value chain, promote alternatives to replace these options, and influence urban dwellers’ consumption of potassium and micronutrients rich foods to guarantee the health of individuals and families.
