Rabiu Bello Gandi

Mr. Rabiu Bello Gandi is the State Coordinator, CS-SUNN Sokoto state chapter. An indigene of Gandi Community in Rabah LGA of Sokoto State and a graduate of Business Administration and Management, with over 23 years’ experience in social development work, passionate in the area of child protection, with the vision of having a society free of child abuse and exploitation. Presently working with save the Child Initiative (STCI), Nigeria as Head of Migration, Mobility and Protection with additional Management of Community relations. As a state GBV Response Team Chair, Gandi participated in the state Advocacy and engagements that led to the Passage of VAPP and CRA (Child Protection Law) in Sokoto.

He participated in the research and Development of West African Standard on Child protection and the Gender Budgeting research in Sokoto state by UNDP. Gandi is an active Member of Network of Civil Society against Child Trafficking, Labor and Abuse (NACTAL) National, Zonal and the State level, Active Member of Child Protection network (CPN), Sokoto State Chapter and National and Case Manager Nigeria, West Africa Network for the Protection of Children (WAN) April 2011 to Date (in charge of counselling, rehabilitation and follow-up of vulnerable children identified in Nigeria or received from any of the West African countries). He is the Founder of Community Child Protection actors in Sokoto a platform that provides an opportunity for Sokoto citizens to report issues of Child abuse, Neglect and or any GBV cases and served as Project Manager UNICEF/Spotlight initiative on Ending Violence Against Women and Girls in Sokoto south and North LGAs 2021.

His educational qualification spans across a Post Graduate Diploma in Management, HND Business Administration, Diploma in Computer Studies and a Diploma in Accounting and Auditing. He is Recipient Award of Excellent Service to Women and Children in Sokoto state by Women Wing of Christian Association of Nigeria (WOWICAN), Sokoto state Chapter October, 2023 and Recipient of H4She Meritorious award by the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs Sokoto 2021.

Gandi also serves as National Case Manager, West African Network for the Protection of Children on the Move (WAN), State Coordinator West African Network on Peace Building and State Coordinator Sexual Gender Base Violence and Child Protection Response Team (SGBV/CP – RT)
