Barrister Hadiza Miner
Barrister Hadiza Miner serves as the Plateau State Coordinator for the Civil Society-Scaling Up Nutrition in Nigeria (CS-SUNN), where she leads efforts to address malnutrition and promote sustainable nutritional development. With over two decades of experience in law, sustainable development, and resource management, Barrister Miner brings a wealth of expertise in advocating for improved health and nutrition outcomes across Plateau State. Her background in international law and civil law, coupled with her hands-on experience in community development, positions her as a key advocate for policies that address the nutritional needs of vulnerable populations.
As the Executive Coordinator at Manna Resource Development Center, a role she has held for over 22 years, Barrister Miner has been at the forefront of identifying and utilizing natural resources for sustainable development in Plateau State. Her work has focused on creating lasting impacts by promoting resource-based solutions that empower communities and enhance their resilience. Her expertise in designing and implementing sustainable development initiatives aligns closely with CS-SUNN’s mission of improving nutrition through advocacy, capacity building, and evidence-based programming.
Barrister Miner’s leadership in the fight against HIV/AIDS in Plateau State further highlights her commitment to health advocacy. As the Executive Secretary of the Christian Network on HIV and AIDS (2008-2009), she successfully designed and implemented HIV/AIDS programs, raised funds, mobilized resources, and led staff in program execution. Her experience in managing public health initiatives, from strategic planning to monitoring and evaluation, has been instrumental in shaping her ability to lead large-scale nutrition programs under CS-SUNN’s mandate.
Academically, Barrister Miner holds an LLD in International Law on Sustainable Development (2018) and an LLM in Civil Law (2004) from the University of Jos. Her legal background has equipped her with the analytical skills to advocate for policies that promote social justice, sustainable development, and improved health outcomes. She leverages this expertise to engage with government officials, community leaders, and development partners to ensure that nutritional issues remain a priority in Plateau State’s development agenda.
