The Honourable Commissioner for Health, Enugu State, Dr. Obi Emmanuel Ikechukwu has lauded the SUN Movement Pooled Fund initiative and commended CS-SUNN for electing Enugu state as a beneficiary of the project. He gave the commendation when members of CS-SUNN, Enugu State Chapter, paid an advocacy visit to his office in Enugu.
The commissioner noted that Nutrition is important and cannot be overemphasized in ensuring good health for all. He said the Enugu State government was committed towards improving the health and wellbeing of her citizens, and as such will readily support every initiative geared towards achieving this overall goal.
The CS-SUNN delegation was led by Mr. Ambrose Evhoesor (Project Officer, CS-SUNN) and Dr. Chuka Agunwa, the Coordinator CS-SUNN Enugu State. Ambrose explained that the CS-SUNN Enugu State Chapter will work with the Enugu State Health Ministry towards successful implementation of the SUN movement Pooled Fund Window II.
Dr. Agunwa, the State Coalition Chairman of CS-SUNN Enugu state, told the state’s health commissioner that the goal is to Scale up Nutrition; ensure food and nutrition security in Nigeria through active advocacy, engagements of stakeholders, building of Capacities of Communities and populations. He also solicited support, collaboration and partnership going forward from the Commissioner.
